Rewind to January 2017. Whitney Rose was primed to release her first recording of the year, South Texas Suite, a countrypolitan valentine to her hometown of Austin, Texas. Days before the EP hit the streets and Rose kicked off a four-month worldwide tour, the burgeoning songwriting force packed her boots for Nashville, where she entered BlackBird Studio A to reconvene with the Mavericks’ Raul Malo. In one short week, Rose, Malo and co-producer Niko Bolas crafted her acclaimed latest effort, Rule 62. Rose, a unique and inimitable writer and performer has been highly lauded for her work. Rose and her seasoned band have performed nearly four hundred shows in the past two years gaining international notoriety.
A choir girl turned country troubadour, Kristin Carter’s high-energy stage presence and dynamic vocals can move, excite, and empower an audience at any given moment.
Originally from White Rock, Kristin grew up with the modern country vibes of Shania Twain, The Dixie Chicks, and Faith Hill while also taking cues from the soulful vocals of Beyoncé.
Drawn to choir at age 5, Kristin Carter used the timeless vocal practice to train her voice for over 15 years until – after a university education took her to Halifax and back – she found inspiration for writing country songs on her daily Vancouver commute.
In 2016, she turned her full creative attention to the genre and recorded a series of YouTube videos that garnered over 75,000 views.
With a pop-driven country sound punctuated by powerhouse vocals and lyrics that inspire confidence, Kristin Carter’s country music story has only just begun.

After winning MTV Cover of the Month in February 2017, Nikita went on to gain the title of Best New Artist of the Year at the 2017 International Portuguese Music Awards and was announced the winner of The Roxy Launch Project (2017.) Voted Best Musician in the South Okanagan by Okanagan Life Magazine (2015), Nikita's country music’s honest storytelling mixed with a modern pop/rock twist and breathy yet strong vocal harmonies captivate audiences from the vibrant young to the charming old. Adapting her shows from solo, duo, trio to a four-piece band full of rich harmonies, she has entertained in intimate settings to large crowds of regional music concerts such as opening for Paul Brandt and singing with Keith Urban.
